Chiara takes us into the hills of Sovizzo to guide us through this elegant new house, where she has taken care of the floors and bathrooms of the house.

Hi! I'm Chiara Pellizzari, and today I am taking you to discover this project designed by the architect Elena Prandin, a jewel set in the hills of Sovizzo (Vicenza) for which I did the floors and bathrooms. A house, as you'll see, of extreme classical elegance mixed with more modern details.

The taste of the owners comes out in every space, enhanced by the attention to detail that the client has reserved for herself, adding highly personal and well thought-out touches to the new home.

Let's discover it together!

Take the full tour of the house with Chiara:

Hungarian herringbone parquet

As soon as you arrive, you realise the care with which this house has been designed and the elegant perfection that has brought each piece to take its place within it. You can't help but breathe in the timeless class with which the owners have furnished their new space, in which everything speaks of them.

In order to respect the style of the house we installed a black oak floor on both in the ground floor and the upper floor. The naturalness of parquet can adapt to a classic house as well as to a modern one, so in this house the wood respects the elegance of classic elements, but with a certain amount of character given by the dark colouring, with these iridescent veins clearly present in the strips, and by the Hungarian herringbone laying pattern which increases its dynamism.

It is a floor that certainly catches the eye and becomes the protagonist of the spaces in which it is laid, as the owner is reminded by guests who visit her. She told me about all the compliments they give her when they enter the house, but also about how easy it is to clean the wood and how beautiful it is to live with.
I'll leave the final judgement to you though!

Cantilevered wooden staircase

In this living room, there is one element that breaks away from classicism to make the room more modern: the cantilever staircase. There are different types of stairs, but this is definetely one of my favourites! The steps, covered with the same wood as the floor, take on a light appearance and allow the light to circulate freely without weighing down the room with its presence.

On the contrary, this staircase becomes a furnishing element and catapults this classic house into modern times, while maintaining a high level of elegance. An important detail is the wooden caps that cover the metal studs that anchor the steps to the glass parapet, giving a sense of continuity to the step that seems to continue beyond the glass material.

Guest bathroom

The living area bathroom, dedicated to guests, surprises us with the choice of these modern large slabs with an aged plaster effect playing on two colours, which the client has skilfully used in the towels and in the choice of a matching shower hose. If you take a closer look at this house, you will immediately notice how the details have been surgically taken care of, from the colours to the materials, everything comes back to a unique and harmonious style.

So here we see the elegant herringbone parquet, whose colour is echoed by the satin-finish glass top of the furniture, and the porcelain stoneware, whose grey colour is echoed by the brushed steel taps

The essential furnishings allow plenty of space for this room, which is equipped with a capacious made-to-measure cupboard at the back, whose illuminated open compartments highlight the client's beautiful collection of glasses, in line with the classic decor of the house.

Classic bathroom for her

On the upper floor, the clients asked us to design two different bathrooms: one for her and one for him. Both wanted a private space that spoke of them and them only, so they were satisfied!

This, the first, is the bathroom for her. She, an aesthete and connoisseur of style, opted for large polished marble-effect slabs in this particular aquamarine-blue colour with deep, warm veins (again refleced in the colour of the shower hole!). An imposing cladding that also dresses the carefully designed niche in front of the  bathroom cabinet with its classic lines, softened by the hydroprogressive steel taps, which you will find throughout the house.

Here, unlike the other bathrooms we play on the floor with a large stone-effect porcelain stoneware creating a continuos surface, which also forms the shower tray flush with the floor.

Alabaster effect bathroom for him

In his bathroom, the large, chocolate-coloured, polished alabaster-effect slabs stand out, a delight for the eyes of those who enter and for mine too (I must say I'm a big fan!). Its warm, embracing tones go well with the parquet floor, which is once again on the bathroom floor.

The play of reflections is not only on the large slabs, but also on the large mirrored bathroom cabinet, which is suspended so as not to invade the room too much. This is characterised by a stoneware top with a chute: the drain is covered by a removable chute which makes the water flow like a fabric towards the pipes.

In this bathroom we can both enjoy a large shower covered in large slabs with a rainfall shower head, and an air and water hydromassage tub with a matt exterior finish. The two modes allow massages of different intensities, leaving the user to adjust the intensity of the bubble play to suit his or her needs. He has clearly chosen a bathroom dedicated to well-being and complete relaxation!

Outdoor floors

We end our tour with this magnificent loggia and the exterior of the house, from which you can enjoy a wonderful view of the Berici hills in all serenity. Here we have used a light-coloured multiform porcelain stoneware outdoor flooring to maintain the clean lines of the house, the stone cladding and the shades chosen for the external facades

A floor that is certainly very practical, but also aesthetically pleasing, which in its clarity leaves room for the real protagonist of the outdoor spaces: the breathtaking view!
