New house in Padua: surfaces, bathrooms and kitchen

We started by seeing and touching the materials with our own hands, beginning to reason from those for the large open space of the living area, which would have hosted the kitchen as the focal point of this living space.

Their attention focused on a tile with a resin effect in a warm and light shade of grey, a material that thanks to the choice of the large 120x120 format makes the entire room brighter. A neutral and modern floor, a choice that I supported and recommended considering that they wanted to dare with color on walls and furnishings; with this surface they did not risk making the environment too heavy, leaving the right prominence to the queen of the house.

A kitchen furnishing that stands out and that wants to be a practical and comfortable environment for the home cook!

As I mentioned to you, the clients really like color, so much so that they opted for a bold lacquer: it is a matte sage green that spreads on the doors of the columns and on those of the base of the island, a fresh and youthful shade combined with a very variegated corten metal effect gres, handcrafted to cover the top and the sides of the central monolith and to compose the support surface on the windowed wall, arranging in this point the sink, made with the same material to create a single piece.

The large central island houses the cooktop, with integrated extractor hood, and the retractable electrical tower, very convenient for connecting small appliances, such as the mixer or the beater, for food preparation. The rest of the surface has been left free, thus giving the necessary space to place pots and chop food directly on the top.

For the bathroom in the living area a small but well-furnished room was designed, suitable for guests and for the main functions that we wanted to make scenic and captivating.

I start telling you about this environment from the walls, where we installed large slabs of 120x240 that the clients fell in love with at first sight! It is a plaster effect, a very high technology digital print that wants to represent an old cement wall in which the passage of time and bad weather have crumbled the pre-existing paints, leaving visible now only patches in shades of magenta and light blue. A refined style that recalls the industrial one but that we wanted to soften with matte ceramics with sinuous shapes in clay color, with a backlit round mirror to highlight this unique surface and with a wall applique composed of a luminous ball.

In this bathroom storage furniture was not needed, it is a place of passage where practicality comes before everything, I therefore recommended a freestanding washbasin with wall-mounted stainless steel taps, in this way it was possible to occupy less space without giving up the main elements.

Everything was accentuated by a washable paint applied on the free wall, opposite to the equipped one, and that continues also on the ceiling for an enveloping effect that encloses us inside this environment.

I accompany you to the sleeping area by going up the stairs that we covered in gres, the same material installed as flooring in the living area which in the 120x120 format allowed us to create monolithic steps jointed at 45 degrees that allow continuity and easier cleaning. A design structure that we enhanced by painting the wall on which it rests with the same RAL as the kitchen lacquer, a green that does not go unnoticed and that is in turn accentuated by a luminous handrail that lights our way towards the sleeping area.

From resin-effect gres to a warm and welcoming material: for the first floor we opted for a brushed and varnished oak wood floor with a rustic choice that requires the presence of significant knots. This natural material allows us to walk barefoot in all the rooms, stopping however outside the door of the master bathroom where the functionalities of gres welcome us again.

We leave behind the oak parquet and enter the master bathroom, where we are welcomed again by the resin-effect gres floor which in this room of reduced dimensions, compared to the open space of the living area, makes the horizontal surface appear continuous, also involving the shower tray, covered on site for a unique coherence.

Here too we dared with colors, bringing back the green in a more decisive and metallic shade through the very large 120x240 slabs with verdigris effect that completely cover the wall that hosts the walk-in shower and the sanitary fixtures. The slabs were cut on site meticulously in half, to let a lit niche run in the center, convenient for placing products and scenographically impactful.
In front, we placed a suspended matte lacquered cabinet in powder pink color that houses two basins in absolute white corian, and both countertop washbasins were equipped with brushed stainless steel taps on the top.
