Michele was born and lived in Arzignano. Since he was a child (his mother tells us) he has always loved reading, more than playing. At school he was a little nerd and after graduating from the Marco Polo Institute in Arzignano, he moved to Venice for four years.

Here he graduated in Business Administration and became passionate about Venetian history and architecture.
Passion of which he speaks in his Blog dedicated to Venice.

He paid for his university studies by working for a real estate agency and writing an article a month for about two years, for a technical magazine that dealt with construction, a sector that he knows well, since in his family they don't talk about anything else... 

Once he graduated, he returned to Arzignano to take care of the family business, together with his parents and younger brothers. He got married in 2001 and has two girls, a teenager with a passion for travelling and foreign languages and a younger girl who loves animals and wants to become a vet.

"My office door is always open"

Michele is almost always in the Gambellara shop, which he helped to set un and develop. He is certainly not an authoritarian boss with his collaborators, on the contrary, he is very helpful and  collaborative, and we do not write this out of flattery. He wants us to share information and he wants to be the first to know the problems (even if we sometimes try to solve them without him).

As he himself says "The important thing is to solve the problems, not to find the culprit". Another of his phrases is also "My office door is always open".

"No one can afford the luxury of not studying"

He cares a lot about training, to the point that he personally runs training sessions for employees. After all, he's our teacher... Some of his phrases, with which he terrifies us, are "you're young but if you don't study, you're already old" or "in ten years, if you don't keep up to date, you'll be a dinosaur". 
He keeps buying books for our company library (yes, we have that too). 


"An informed customer will be happier"

This is another phrase we hear a lot and it actually applies in many fields: to fully enjoy a museum you need to know the art, just as you enjoy a concert better if you know the band well and know the songs by heart. The other side of the coin is that if a customer is NOT explained a topic well, this may cause dissatisfaction or false expectations. 
Michele says that with sincerity and giving the right information maybe "you may lose a sale but you will win a customer", who will speak well of us and our honesty.

Michele tells us, from time to time, that the trip to Japan was a thunderbolt. After his visit he wrote a very nice article about Japanese gardens and the suggestive stone paths through them:

What I do at Pellizzari:

  • Staff: organisation, recruitment interviews, management of problems, payroll
  • Legal: regular discussions with lawyers, out-of-court and in-court management of files, meetings and inspections in the event of disputes
  • Payments: authorisation of all outgoing payments (transfers and riba)
  • Overdrafts: analysis and allocation of overdrafts to client companies, monitoring of payments and review of overdrafts
  • Collections: monthly analysis of substandard loans, activation of legal collection procedures, blocking of customers, authorisation of credit losses
  • Suppliers: agreements on supply conditions, discounts, bonuses, payments
  • Sales: working alongside colleagues on major projects, supporting colleagues on complex cases
  • Marketing: drafting of the strategic plan and constant (daily) coordination with colleagues for web activities, social, video, advertising...
  • IT: liaising with the company's (external) IT manager, purchasing software, hardware, modifications and new implementations
  • Security: until 2020 internal security manager of the company, now working alongside the external manager.
  • Correspondence: managing the company's PEC mail and emails to info@; opening and sorting paper mail.
